La Primavera 2014 Part 1

We first offered this itinerary in 2013, inspired by our visit to the big race a few years ago. Originally scheduled in May, we didn't receive enough reservations to make it go. Late in June for 2014 seemed to be more interesting to potential clients, so here we are. We've battled less-than-perfect weather the past few days. Above you see our small group cruising along towards Gavi after visiting the Museum of Champions in nearby Novi Ligure. No photos from there as we shot video that still needs some editing.

We managed to get in that ride on day 1 followed by our annual pilgrimage to Castellania and the tombs of Fausto and Serse Coppi....

...where our little group was welcomed by first-cousin Piero Coppi

CIAO from (l-r) Peter, Jim, Don, Cindy, Steve, Piero, Heather and Gregg. We were invited to lunch with Piero at his favorite hangout, but sadly, it began to rain after lunch so we hopped in the van rather than get soaked. Tomorrow's another riding day, where we'll get smack into the famous Milano-Sanremo race route proper.
